Memory, attention, speed, problem solving: the four skills to train
When we designed Cognito we didn't want a pile of random mini-games. We wanted a balanced workout. So every game lives under one of four skills, and the daily practice tries to keep them in rotation.
Memory
Games like Memory Flash, Grid Recall and Card Pairs lean on working memory — your brain's short-term scratchpad. You hold a pattern for a few seconds, then reproduce it. It's the same muscle you use to remember a phone number long enough to type it.
Attention
Color Clash, Symbol Snap and Go/No-Go are about filtering. They throw conflicting signals at you and ask you to respond to the right one and ignore the rest — exactly the kind of focus that gets shredded by a busy day.
Speed
Math Blitz, Speed Tap and Number Rush are pure processing speed. There's no trick beyond seeing, deciding and acting a little faster each time. Short bursts here feel great because the win is so immediate.
A balanced mind isn't one skill maxed out — it's four skills kept honest.
Problem solving
Letter Lives, Pattern Path and Light Flip slow things down. These reward planning a couple of steps ahead instead of reacting — a nice counterweight to the fast games.
Tell Cognito which skills you want to improve and it hand-picks games for you each day, so your routine stays varied without you having to think about it.
